Would you accept to work night shifts?

There is a pre-employment program now. They want to teach people French in 5 weeks. But I have to accept working night shifts. I have to sign a contract. The course lasts for 8 hours each day. It's intensive. I haven't received any feedback since my last interview. I don't know if I should contact them for an answer. I will keep waiting, but the woman who interviewed me asked many questions. She didn't seem willing to hire me. The fact that I went to the University of Medicine was weird for her. I should have been a nurse and had a lot of money. But anxiety stopped me and I needed to have a job from home. Working in a hospital would make me even more depressed and anxious. I volunteered in a hospital and it was awful. I should learn French by myself because they want too much. They want 8 hours each day. It will be exhausting. And they want night shifts too. I won't accept because I can't work during the night. I should talk all night to people in French. I think the clients are from Canada.

You post all the time about needing money and needing a job and now you are turning one down?

I am not turning one down. This is another job offer. If I need a job this doesn't mean I can work like a slave. They pay 3 euros per hour. And I need to review 800 videos daily. It's more than what I can handle.

if things were that simple and if these were decent jobs, Diana wouldn't struggle like this.

Here in the US, full time employees generally work 40 hours per week, which is usually 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. You said in one post I saw that you would be working every single day? Learning French is going to take awhile, I don't know anyone who can master a foreign language in 5 weeks. Are they going to pay you to learn it? For some reason, these jobs seem rather fishy. Of course, that's just my opinion.

That seems too much for you that job Diana and since the woman did not seem enthusiastic to hire you, it seems a lost cause with it. I never knew you went to the University of Medicine..it is sad that you were unable to work in the field.

Choosing medicine was a huge mistake. It made me sick and I stayed like that since then.

I've worked a few caregiving jobs at night and it wasn't pleasant. I needed the money for my family so I did it. I hope you get something worked out.

maybe you can send them email first, so you don't have to feel anxious for no reason? only pro i see is maybe mastering a new language. and night shifts, that's easier said than done. you can work nigh shifts occassionally but all the time, that's not healthy for your body. maybe you can let them know too. you're working hard, Diana, you really do

I was accepted for my first job. I gave up on this second offer. It's the same company, but there are two different jobs.

You need to look at what is the minimum period this company is looking for your employment post the training. If that time period is fine with you and during the time you would be working at night is also fine, I would say go for it. Learning french could be useful . However , if you think 8 hours per day could be a challenge more than a week , then do not go for it. I understand you are desperate for a job , but there is no point in trying a job in which you are not going to stick for long and health could become challenging. There are interviews which could go positively or negatively. Take the learnings and focus on things. I am sure in time , you will be getting a job. Take care!

Thank you. It's true. Not all jobs are the same. They will say what is the minimum period after accepting me. I just found out that they want us to tale some French exams. This is another job offer. For the first one I didn't receive an answer yet.
