Will this work as a night light in a kids room? What night lamp do you use?

A night lamp

We got a color changing 'whirlpool' lamp just for fun and now my little daughter would like to use it as a night lamp. It changes from red to green and blue etc. Wonder if it's safe or pleasant to sleep with a light that does that. What do you use as a night lamp?

As long as it doesn’t stay on so long it gets too hot I bet it makes a great night light. It’s really cool.

It didn't get hot, but I switched it off after she slept.

I don't have little kids anymore but when I did, I put a soft-white night light in my daughter's room. Color changing bulbs were too stimulating for her and kept her awake if she woke up during the night. I put the dimmest bulb I could buy in it so I could see to step over toys in the floor but not bright enough to wake her up when I walked in her room.

We usually put on a dim light or light stream in from a light outside the room, but this one got her excited suddenly.

I think it is much better for the warm light in a kid's room but maybe it will work for them since your daughter likes it. Maybe you can give it a try

I think it lights up the room very well, I have an LED clock on a shelf that provides me with enough light around my bed,

I should think it is fine as a night light but a good idea to turn it off once she's asleep - which is what I read you did.

It seemed a little too bright and 'happening'

I don't sleep with any light. I find it keeps me up. If I pass out on the couch, that's something else entirely. But, my face is away from light sorces. As long as it doesn't get to bright, should work.

I turned it off after she slept so it didn't brighten up the room.

It would depend on your daughter. Make sure it doesn't get hot

This didn't get hot at all, but I turned it off when she slept.
