Sorry I am reviewing Christmas books but my books are piling up that I haven't reviewed. There are two more holiday reads still to be reviewed, and 3 other novels. I am enjoying all of these books

It's Christmastime in Bells Pass again, but Heather and Gabe are anything but jolly. A disastrous homecoming dance in high school hurt them both, and neither knows how to cross the gulf of pain between them. Old bets, hidden truths, family secrets, and tiny angels will come together to show them true love does conquer all. This Christmas, Gabe and Heather might be the couple that proves the legend of the Bells Pass gazebo isn't just a legend after all.

Katie Mettner's Bells Pass series is a holiday romance series of books. This is number 4 of 8 with 9 coming out soon. But Katie's books aren't just romance novels. Being an amputee herself, she writes characters who have physical disabilities or mental illness. In this book we see both.
Inclusivity is very important to Katie, which is why I am determined to read all her books. She never fails to write a good story, a sweet romance, and include some sort of ailment or illness in one or more of her characters. She shows people that you may not be perfect on the outside, but you can still be loved and desired despite the scars, both visible and invisible, as well as showing the struggles each individual faces.
In this story Gabe and Heather had been best friends in high school, until something fractured their friendship. Ten years later, we learn not only of the emotional issues both Gabe and Heather experienced, but the physical ailments Heather has had to deal with. Of course along with those physical ailments come emotional and psychological affects. Gabe shows Heather that she can be loved.
This is such a sweet love story with a lesson in empathy. There is despair, there if fear, there are struggles, there is hope, there's family and friendship. But in the end, there is love.
Don't miss this series of books. Start with book 1 - Meatloaf & Mistletoe.

Is it clean romance? Maybe I will recommend it to someone who likes romance.
