"L.A. Woman" by The Doors is one of my favorite tracks to listen to and when I want to rock out, that tune is on my playlist. Mr. Jim Morrison delivers that song with some real "Mojo," as in "Mr. Mojo Risin." Using this phrase, whose letters when rearranged forms the lead singer's name, is repeated faster and faster near the song's end bringing the tune to a climax. Wow, what a musical tribute to an L.A. lady!
L.A. WOMAN- THE DOORS (1971)
-L.A. Woman was the title track to the last Doors album before Jim Morrison died. Although Morrison's song glorified Los Angeles as the "City of Lights," a closer look at his lyrics suggests the singer's love affair with the city was not always a happy one.
ARE YOU A DOORS FAN?
And now for some of my other favorite female titled songs. They are all real "lady killers!"
See if you recognize them...

TRIVIA CHALLENGE
***Here's today's music challenge for those who like to figure out who the artist, song or facts are from the clues provided... Words with quote marks provide some hints!
1. This tune was recorded by a "blue eyed crooner" from "Hoboken, New Jersey." His cover of this song was so good even "Sammy, Dino and the rest of the Rat Pack" would approve. The song is about a "gambler" whose looking for "good things" to happen, in other words some ______. And in this song from the musical "Guys and Dolls," he's hoping not only to win the bet, but win over the "lady" he's escorting.
-Can you name this iconic singer and his lady-titled tune?
2. This 1968 single released by the Beatles was a #1 hit in Britain. Paul McCartney was inspired by a photo of a "woman nursing her child." Another "lady singer whose name is the same as the title of this song" recorded a tune called "Like a Virgin," but I'm pretty sure that track was not about life (Virgin Mary) imitating art. lol The song lyrics features "every day of the week" except Saturday. Sample line: "Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlace." See how they run...
-Can you name this lady-titled song by the Fab Four?
3. This song was written and recorded by a "folkie named Zimmerman from Minnesota." But you might know him better by his music name. Do you recognize his song title from these lyrics, "His clothes are dirty but his, his hands are clean.
And you're the best thing that he's ever seen. Stay, lady, stay, Stay with your man a while.
-Do you know the artist's name and his lady-titled song?
Ok, so let's really be a "lady killer" and get these answers right. Until next time!

Hey DB, the second question has something to do with Madonna and that’s all I know.
But here’s another one, if you don’t mind me adding to the list.
Don’t know why, but I freakin love this song.
I’m gonna listen to this one while packing up some boxes. Well, REpacking. And sorting.
Have a great weekend

Interesting song! Must have been some special woman.
Trivia Answers:
1. Frank Sinatra- Luck Be a Lady
2. Lady Madonna
3. Bob Dylan- Lay Lady Lay
Yes, you were on the right track with #2. This was the only Hot 100 hit with "Madonna" in the title until 2015, when Madonna's "Bit** I'm Madonna" made the tally.
Enjoy... and have a great day, Melanie!!!
