My niece who lives in Australia was down recently with her husband and as usual she brougth me a few goodies. One of them always is Quality Street chocolates.
Strangely these chocolates never tasted as good as those she always brought for me earlier. Although the packing is the same they could be made in different countries including India I do not think they picked them up from India and so wonder why the quality does not match that of what they brought for me earlier.
Any idea?

These were my favourite chocolates during my childhood. The chocolates in these , came in different colours and shapes. My favourite among those were the green coloured -chocolate with coconut filling .Used to choose that one whenever I got the opportunity. These days , I do not get to see them except in super malls. The last time I had them , I did notice they were also getting packed in India. As far as quality goes , never found any major difference between ones from foreign and from India. Perhaps with inflation , the ingredient quality may have been slightly lowered or it could be one of those batches that missed the quality checks.

I have been eating these chocolates for years and I can certainly find the difference in quality.
I too like those coconut filled chocolates.

That is quite likely and the price may have been increased![](/Content/images/emotes/w00t.gif)

They might have started using ingredients of lower quality or it could just be the season, I think chocolate doesn't taste as good in summer. It could be heat that messes with it, and it's pretty hot in Australia at the moment. I tend to avoid chocolate when the weather is hot, unless it's ice cream.

@allknowing If your niece brought these chocolates before during this season and they tasted better than this time, I would guess it is the cheaper ingredients too.

Many manufacturers do this but not all will get back to their original quality even if there is a protest.

Quality Streets chocolates used to be quite good. But I haven't had them for a long time. I usually have Lindt dark chocolates these days.
