Skeleton crew

I just finished my 10.5 hours of work, with a skeleton crew. Only five employees, besides me and the assistant manager, ran the entire store. I'm glad it was a slow day.
I had a good crew tonight, when one slacked I moved that one closer to the front, where most of the customers exited the store.
At the end of my shift my books balanced so I was happy about that.
Thank God I have the weekend off, however, I will have to work tomorrow at my other job but I get one day free and I'll clean my house.
Work is never ending!
How was your Friday?

You do know, just like Walmart, once they see you can run the store with a reduced crew, they'll expect you to do it all the time, no matter how busy the store is, right? That's how Walmart started reducing the crew on us... If we could run on a reduced crew, then they let people go and we had no choice.
I'm glad everything turned out well for you.
I worked in the kitchen this morning but fell this afternoon when I started to the kitchen to get something to eat. I got back in bed and stayed there until Pretty woke up late this afternoon. I watched a movie and some YouTube.
I hope you have a good night.

The problem was; one was out three days with a doctor's excuse. Another called out. The general manager is hiring a couple people, the assistant manager had been out a couple days sick and she told both of us if we couldn't get everything done it's okay because she'll have a full crew today being that it's truck day.
My GM would rather have to many people and us send them home if we are super slow than not have enough, that's what I like about her.
I hope you didn't hurt yourself falling.

@andriaperry I'm fine, thanks. It just startles me when I fall. The carpet cushions me from the falls. I've fallen outside and gotten hurt before, though.
You're GM seems to care about the people as much as the business. Most upper management only care about the business and cutting costs.

@DaddyEvil she does, she was mad about the extra security guard, saying that money they pay him could have went for pay raises for her employees, that he is not necessary.

Friday just did the usual nothing spectacular. It was a nice day though and I got my steps outside and had my window open for awhile. That felt good!

Glad you'll have one day off, although you'll still be working because housework is work nonetheless.

Are your co workers ill? Ours are. We have run on skeleton crew in our program all week. Each of the three that are out have come back for one day and then run a fever, had stomach issues and/or just are too week. Same with the two kids who have been out. They are well enough to come in the morning, then spike a fever. I have even done bus coverage although it gives me quite a bit of pain.

I hate corporate America's skeleton crews. Its the worse. How do you expect to profit so much when you running people down. I tell the people like Teachers and military, even though in Marines they kind of did it too because they are actually very big on not wasting the taxpayers money, but again if you running skeleton crews, you going to have problems. You need enough people in place to make it work as it should
Is there times it can work, sure, but all the time you wasting money and driving your workers mad. There is times its necessary but corporate world thinks they can do it all the time. No you can't and you stupid if you try.
