Do You Know Your Town ??

I have traveled many villages; towns and metro cities. But I don't claim to know the places fully. I was born in a small town thirty years ago. But even after living here for 30 years I have yet to know different parts of the town. I realized the truth a few years back when one evening I found myself at an area I had never seen before. I had arrived that area during my evening walk. It was a area surrounded by paddy fields and small huts. I stayed there for some time and then decided to leave for home; but was confused what route I should follow. I asked some people there. They told me the way. I wonder how ignorant one can be about one's own town.

But I feel I have yet to know my town where I've been living for last thirty years. There are many areas here I have never seen.

I used to think I had seen every inch of my town. But I was wrong. I got stuck at a place I had never seen before. It was somewhere near the outskirts of my town. The jungle I walk to every early morning is nearly 2 kms west to it. I go to the jungle and wander there for more than half an hour; but that place was virgin to me.

I am from a small town; and I used to think I knew every inch of my town. But that day made me realize there are still areas here that I had never seen by me.

I still live in the small city/town I was born in and there are some parts of it I don't go to... I don't avoid them, I just don't have a reason to go there. (I live in a city with only 7,000 people in it.) I tend to stay in the parts of the city I know and have a reason to be in.

@Shivram59 I live in a very chaotic place here in the US and hopefully I know every nook and cranny since I've never properly traveled out of state or out of the country.

@lilacskies You live in a big city. It's normal you have visited every corner of the city. I'm from a small town that has areas I have never been to. That day the realization dawned on me.
