That's one of those weight-loss shots like Ozempic. It seems like everyone at work is on it. . . or at least was. It must have been costing the insurance company a TON because now they are denying people getting on it and are discontinuing it for those who have lost a lot of weight. Well. . . the ones who were denied continuing shots are regaining the weight and are furious. My work BFF is jumping through the hoops (bloodwork, nutrition training, etc) to get approved but I just don't get it. Yes it helps people to lose weight but once you lose the weight they won't pay for it and you gain it all back. Um maybe just learn to control what you put into your mouth and go to the gym? I lost an incredible amount of weight (almost 50 pounds in 4 months) simply by working out and modifying my diet. I weigh even less now because I learned how to eat properly. I'm not an adult who eats like a child who won't eat vegetables. I don't follow some trendy diet like only eating meat or only vegetables. As a result my weight is in a comfortable range for me. I don't stress when I step on the scale. I don't have to rely on medication or injections to do that. I'm a big girl who can manage my weight on my own. It is crazy for coworkers who are doing the injections now that they are getting rejected.

It's like people want someone else to be responsible. They don't want to make the effort but are looking for an easy fix. Good for you for doing the hard yards.

I do feel badly for a girl, well, woman, I know, who has a metabolic syndrome, is that what it’s called? Her body was finally behaving how it was supposed to. She lost a lot of weight, and now insurance won’t pay for it. I feel a little sick for her actually because I’ve seen what she’s gone through trying to keep weight off. Her husband makes good money though so maybe they can swing it.

I have heard about that. I think that your way of shedding some weight is the only good way.

I lost 20 pounds last year due to stress and other issues and went from 110 pounds to 90 pounds. Everyone points out how underweight I've become and it is so stressful because I can't gain my weight back to at least 100.
