First he gets rid of USAID and we find that is because they were going to investigate him. He is making moves to help his pocket, not just Trump's. He has a big standing in China and now that China is taking over where USAID left off soon they will hold all the goodies and the U S will no longer have a hold on them. Yep, the U S is going down the tube and Elon Musk is going to come out smelling like a rose.

@lilacskies .......Yes, indeed. Their addresses are easy to find online and I feel like we all need to do something. I don't go out so I won't be doing much but, at least I could write my reps and put a bur in their ears.

Let us be honest. What China offers, and what the US offers. China offers aid at lower levels....surplus production stuff....which everybody needs in some way or the other. The US, on the other hand, offers military aid...which an average person does not need, most of the time...
Given the difference....there never was a chance for the US to survive this ongoing trade war....
China's offering has insidious presence and can hurt the pockets really hard.
But the silver lining for the rest of the world........when the US increases the tariffs, China will be forced to sell most of its "manufactured" stuff to the rest of the world, at deep discounts, to prevent its manufacturing units from shutting down. So we can expect cheaper electronics and clothes and footwear going forward...

@jaylar Exactly...the US has mastered wrong type of product. Dispensable avoidable stuff... we cannot do without tvs, and mobile handsets and computers and laptops and tablets...there is always some market for it. Whereas the expensive defense equipment....if not the US, we can turn to France, Germany, Russia....for cheaper alternatives. So...it is for citizens to curtail their desires...out of patriotism....tariffs will not do that wonder...

add to that the fact the uS interferes in the political situation of other countries, making demands, slapping penalties. china invaded us over two decades ago. almost everything we have is 'made in china' save for a few local items, etc.
You can't find a US made TV, microwave, fridge, etc in Jamaica
