Postponed surgery

I was supposed to have surgery yesterday. A needed one but the gal that does the insurance stuff at the doctor's office failed to get me pre-authorized with my insurance in time and she blamed it on me! She started off by saying I had new insurance, which I do not. So I called my 2 insurances and talked to them both and they verified that I only had those 2 and no more but that I had a third party entity that did the pre-authorization of surgeries and was not an insurance company at all. So I called the gal at the doctor's office back and explained this to her and she still blamed me for the pre-authorization not going through in time as if I knew about this step in the process. I don't know her job, and obviously she doesn't either! And I told her that too! I will have to talk to the dr herself to inform her that I did not like being blamed for something that was not my fault in any way. And now I have to wait a month before I can get rescheduled for the surgery again. If only she knew what I had to go through to prepare for the surgery I missed. I had to prep the house so that my husband could handle things for at least a week of me being down, that meant lowering things to his reach and adjusting groceries to things he could put together for us to eat and cooking and freezing meals that he could thaw. What a nightmare! I'll get off of my soapbox now and wish everyone a good evening. I just needed to vent. Thanks for hearing me out. Hopefully none of you have ever had to go through anything like this, it's beyond irritating! Peace!

I have a bladder disease that requires interstims, or sacral nerve transmitters to be implanted in my hips to help my bladder work properly. They actually fool my brain into thinking my bladder is working correctly and that keeps me from having to run to the bathroom a ton of times a day and eases my pain. I will have 2 removed and only 1 reimplanted because of new technology, so I'm anxious to get this done. The battery life on mine are dying. I should be able to get it next month, if she doesn't mess that up too! Thank you for your concern.

Wow, that is beyond frustrating! You did everything you were supposed to, and yet you’re the one paying the price for someone else’s mistake. And to be blamed on top of that? That’s just unacceptable. It’s completely understandable to be upset, especially after all the effort you put into preparing for your recovery. I really hope your doctor listens and that everything goes smoothly when you finally get rescheduled. You deserve better treatment.

Thank you for understanding. I am frustrated and very upset with this staff member. I will tell the dr and she will hear me or I'll write a formal letter to her. She has to know.

I wrote to the one above exactly what it is that will happen and it can wait, I just didn't want it to wait, I'm anxious to have it done and start healing. It is one of the most painful surgeries I've ever had and I've had over 60 surgeries. 3 being with these implants and they are the hardest to get over because you can't sit, or lay or be comfortable in any position for about 2 weeks. Thank you for your concern.

I'm sorry your surgery got postponed. That sounds very frustrating. I'm glad I live in the UK and we have the national health service. I can understand you wanted to vent. Yes, I can see that it's irritating for you. Peace to you too.
