George felt good enough to take another short walk today, this time making it halfway between our house and the one next door. He stopped to check the mail, too. Just his old college looking for money.

It's amazing to me how colleges still look for money from their previous students. Wow.

You'd think they don't get enough from their current ones.

@kaylachan I know, right? They have so much funding and yet they continue asking for money from their previous students. Very greedy.

That's AWESOME I'm so glad to hear that that's a major improvement just don't let him do too much at 1 time maybe every other day take a walk.

No. I can't do that. You see, George knows what his body can handle and his bad leg is stiff if I don't work it daily he'll loose use of it.

@kaylachan I'm not saying not let him walk at all but just not a lot in 1 day like expand the walk a little at a time not a mile in 1 day, like around the yard 1 day then another day around the yard & across the street the next time & then around the yard across the street & a 1/2 a block the next.

@2ndchances24 He's not walking anywhere close to a mile. if anything to the corner is about maybe 500 feet. not even close to a mile. I trust him to know how far to push himself. I mean, yesterday he wound up walking a little less, but he did a lot more standing because there was more traffic and he wanted to see what was in the mailbox. The point is he's getting up and moving around, and not just around our house.

I don't doubt it. With the sun out and weather warm, George is putting in a lot more effort.

That is fantastic! Great to read that George is confident and doing well when he is going for a short walk. It is definitely progress. No matter, whether it is small progress or big progress, it is still progress. Hopefully, he will get better as the days goes. As far as the mail goes, colleges never miss a chance to ask for donations. If they deserve something, you can think about it. I did once a schooling in one for 2 years. They did reach out to know how I am doing and all, a precursor before the donation. Never entertained that. They never deserved that as those were the worse days in my academic life s the teaching and school life was sub-standard. Well, then have a great day ahead!

Ours is one of those 'is your information up-to-date' conversations. They only offer a phone number and say we must respond within five days. no. just no. Thanks. I'm thankful for all the support and knowledge that George is doing his level best.
