Being Relatable

I have observed that being relatable usually makes a lot of engagement in whatever platform. I think this is one of the key to success in social media platforms that make your earn bucks. Actually, it is applicable to any endeavor, may it be in the field of education, science, engineering, among others.
But it is actually hard to become relatable. It seems easy but it is hard. Like if it comes natural, that is where success can take you.

People tend to be self-centered, not in a bad way. Then it's just that we get to see reality through our own personal experiences and relatable content "flows" more easily. Trying to understand a different point of view requires a lot of mental effort while people on social media usually want to relax and unwind.
I believe following the Golden Rule is generally the best way to go: sharing content you yourself would enjoy. And of course, you can also ask questions or drop baits to boost engagement.

You mean "drop bait" like I do when I start teasing people?
Good morning here... Good afternoon at your house?

@DaddyEvil Good evening now as I'm reading your comment.
Well, baiting is like trolling except the latter is more malicious. I mean, trolls want to be a nuisance to others, while baiters just want to generate more engagement.

@somewitch Sometimes I like being a nuisance to friends just to have some fun and help them have fun teasing me back.
Yeah, it's afternoon now at my house.
I hope you've been having a good day there.

I always hate starting in a new job or on a new site online... I don't know anyone and they don't know me. (I told Pretty about Preply this morning. I don't know if she'll look into it or not.)

I think what makes someone relatable would differ from person to person based on life experiences and personalities and certain conditions etc.

I definitely agree with your thought. Being relatable is one of the biggest factors when driving engagement, be it on social media or anywhere else. People feel more connected and have that connect when they feel it is genuine and something familiar to them. Content which resonates on more personal well perform well and perhaps become viral. But then being relatable is never easy. Authenticity can never be created and trying hard to be relatable can have fatal issues and opposite reactions. Key is to find a balance- be yourself while understanding the readers. I definitely agree it is a skill and perhaps for some it comes naturally. For others they would have to cultivate them and master them.

Wow! Thanks for that very insightful response, Anish. We really have the same thoughts on this matter. And for a not so extrovert individual like me, it is really hard to become relatable. My social skill is really failing me I think. Not to mention my being perfectionist all the time. But I always keep trying.
It seems myLot is really helping me a lot on this endevour.
