Snow day, we needed it

So many of my coworkers are still sick, but today we get a snow day. It does not look like a huge amount but it is cold and in some places very windy.
Yesterday we sent my kiddo home sick, and sound asleep. He had not felt his regular self on Monday, either. I am trying hard to stay well as even the staff that has come back from being ill does not feel 100 %.
This is the first of three rounds of winter weather we are supposed to see in the next week.
I have my heated mattress pad turned on and I am going to go back to bed.
Hubby fixed us hash and eggs and we also had toast. Yummy breakfast.

Other than a light snowfall here yesterday afternoon, we hadn't seen any more by the time I took my morning meds today. It started falling sometime after I went to sleep. We have about an inch of snow/ice on the ground now with more falling and we're at 30F. The forecast shows between 3 - 5 inches expected between today and tomorrow. We shall see.
I hope you don't get sick again and feel better quickly.
I haven't looked any further than tomorrow's weather and not sure I want to look further.
Your breakfast sounds delicious. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I am sleeping for my health today. It is a good thing to do. I doubt I will get the flu as so many have, because I do get my flu shots every year. I have had a lot of body aches this week, but they are not like the flu. I was blaming it on riding the bus, and the cold front moving in, but it just might be a side effect of my current diabetes medicine. How have you been since you fell?

@GardenGerty Meds can give all kinds of side effects and I really dislike some of mine.
I'm okay, just a little sore. I fell again this morning on the kitchen floor. I didn't drop the plate I was carrying, though... I'm glad about that. I would've had to wake Pretty up to help me clean the glass off the floor. We have clear plates and I can't always see the glass slivers. My back started hurting again, I think from the fall. I took a muscle relaxant and a couple of Tylenol and am feeling okay-ish.
I'm going to have to call and see if my brother can take us to the laundromat on Friday. That should only take about 40 minutes and we need to hit the Post Office before going home again. (I got paperwork from Social Security. They're looking at my case again and needed new/extra documentation mailed to them. We have the paperwork filled out but need to send it in.)
I really hope you're right and you can't catch anything from the kids. Please take care. I do worry about you both.

Stay warm. Hopefully no more sickness there and every one feels fully okay soon.
Many are feeling sick here too due to sudden change in weather. Flu is rampant.

Lots of flu going around here. I am staying home and warm today and I think it is helpful.

@GardenGerty That is better. Catching flu will be annoying.

I have slept most of today. I do not want to get sick and I felt like I really needed it. I have a check up in a couple of weeks because of the new medicines I have started this year.

Glad the weather cooperated when you needed it to.
We had a lot of days right at the beginning of the year that weren’t “snow” days but sick days, because of the high absenteeism.

So far our superintendent will not call off if the kids are absent. He says if a large percentage of staff is out he will, though. We did have lots of weather related days off right after winter break.

Well, my kid had a high enough temp to send home. Another kiddo went home and went straight to bed, she had been going downhill all day. Another child we work with had screaming fits and a low grade fever and when I mentioned to his mom that he drank quite a bit of water she said it was a sign he was getting ill. All these non verbal kids end up with rough behaviors to tell us they feel badly.

I hope you enjoy your day. I considered getting a heated mattress pad myself, but I didn't end up getting it.

I know you really watch your expenses, but the heated mattress pad really helps with chronic pain. I pay for my "extra" stuff by doing surveys and myLot, and such.

@GardenGerty I will look into it for chronic pain. Thank you! That's so cool. I have never done surveys before. How do you get paid for doing them and what sites? You don't have to post them in a comment if you don't want to, but a private message would be appreciated nonetheless.

That does sound a great breakfast. Try to get plenty of rest so your body can fight off whatever bug want to attack you.
