Jonathan Glazer's seminal cockney gangster classic still remains a must see in the genre for those of you who have not yet enjoyed Ray Winston and Ben Kinglsey going head to head, the later hamming it up big time with his psychotic criminal underworld fixer character Don Logan. In fact the film is worth seeing just for him, delivering some of cinemas most quotable lines of the decade. The basic set up is Ray Winstone character 'Gal' is retired from crime and living it up on the Spanish Costa's on his winnings. But he and his partners in crime are expecting trouble, Don Logan, over from England to recruit them for one last job and he's not accepting no for an answer, crime boss Teddy Bass (Ian Mcshane) waiting for them back home in the smoke. Its funny, sharp, violent and with its cool soundtrack and iconic scenes its right up there in the cockney cliche villains top three. Glazer had a background in music video going into this so the sharp cuts, slick tunes and Ray and Ben allowed to tear up the script makes even more pleasing. Must see for 'twentysomethings' being bought up on the current movie tripe.

It is brilliant recommendation for anyone who love gritty and stylish crime films. Ben Kingsley’s Don Logan (the man who played Mahatma Gandhi) is truly mesmerizing. It is one of rare performances that is both scary and dark hilarious. I like the tension between him and Ray Winstone. It is simply electrifying and alongwith Glazer’s sharp direction, amazing editing and good soundtrack, Sexy Beast is a great standout in the genre. It is must watch who loves intense characters and thrillers. Thanks for the movie recommendation. Enjoy your day!
