A female dog that went missing in Las Vegas Nevada in 2016 was recently found by a family in St. George Utah eight years ago as the female dog had been in an animal shelter in St. George where her current owners adopted her and they found out that she had been microchipped.
The current owner of the dog and her former owner made a decision that the dog that went missing belongs with her current owner which is a good deal since I am sure that the dog is happy living with her current owners.
That old saying is "Not all stories have happy endings." But the dog is happy with her current owners.

Many of these dogs could have bestsellers if they could tell teir stories and make money for their owners

That is true that if dogs could talk, their story would be awesome like the stories of dogs going on road trips.

I am in agreement with you that the lost dog is happy with his current owners.

That is true since it is the right decision to allow the dog to live with his current owners.

It seems like that the animal shelter slipped up there, as they should have checked for microchipping on the dog when it first came into their shelter.
The real owner's were magnanimous in giving their dog away, as they probably paid big money for it as a puppy, but they showed common sense in their decision.

I am sure that the former owners of the dog do miss their pet but also realize that their dog is happy with her current owner.
