Thrifting Tomorrow

United States

I am going to a local thrift store tomorrow to see what kind of goodies they have for cheap. I probably won't buy anything, but I'm going out tomorrow for work so I might as well do two things while I'm out to make the most of my time outside. There is a local thrift store that is kind of similar to Goodwill, but it's very small, local, and there is one employee and one owner working the store. I always find a good deal whenever I visit for gifts because they are brand new with tags and are in pristine condition anyway. I highly recommend visiting thrift stores. You can score a good deal, make great memories, and learn about new brands from all over the world. I've found fancy ball gowns for $20 with the tags still on them and they were in pristine condition. It's incredible, and the adventure never gets old. This will be after my shift tomorrow. In the meantime, I will get some rest.

Not sure I’ve ever been to a thrift store. This reminds me that I have to look through my old stuff again and pack it up and donate it. Not sure if to Salvation Army or VVA.

@lilacskies I also noticed that some shopping plazas here have clothing donation bins or whatever they are called. Won’t get a paper saying you donated but I guess it doesn’t really matter. I doubt showing you donated will do much when filing taxes.

@lovebuglena That's right. Don't bother mentioning it while you are filing taxes. Doesn't make any difference and you could risk getting audited if you try anyway.

I recommend it if you ever get a chance! That is very generous of you to donate instead of throwing them out!

Well, sounds like you get good deals. And who would not love that, especially when the goods are in pristine condition. It's wise to be frugal.

@lilacskies Did you end up buying something? I know you had no such plans of buying, but it is tough to resist a good deal

@arunima25 It's too early to go right now. I will go later today. I will let you know what I get if I get something.

Me too. Never gets old. What do you usually buy? I like antiques. Not for me. Just as gifts.

Thrifting can be a lot of fun. They are like big garage sales, and there's always something new on the shelves. Have fun.

It's goood, but when I want a bargain, I usually go to one run by the church. Unbelievable prices and they have slot of good stuff.
