Dug out turmeric

Turmeric was dug out today We did not get much but should be enough for home consumption - no gifting to others. It will be first thoroughly washed, boiled and cut into very thin slices. It is then dried in the sun and put in a mixie that will give us turmeric powder. I have kept a few rhizons for planting. Hope to get a good crop next year

To me that looks like quite a harvest - I hardly even see that much turmeric in the stores.

Once we had as much as 20 kilos of it but it go reduced to just two kilos of powder

it is great to know you grow turmeric we buy from the market and the raw ones are also eaten
