I just ordered a magazine this morning. It has been years since I have had a magazine subscription. It was a good price though, and will give me something to look forward to even though my first one won't come until mid to late Spring. I also am probably going to subscribe to the digital edition of the Wall Street journal. Any new periodicals for you?

I love magazines. The last one I sort of subscribed to was for free because I bought their bedding . . . it was Better Homes and Gardens. I just grabbed a bunch of free magazines from a Little Library . . . Good Housekeeping, Real Simple, HGTV - I guess I subscribe often to "free"
.

I don'often get free magazines because usually they are something I am not interested in or they are way out of date.

I don't subscribe to any periodicals. I don't have time to read them and they would pile up and be a fire hazard or I would need to haul them to the recycle bin too often.
I used to subscribe to Writer's Digest. When I was done with those, I put them on the free table in the laundromat. I met another writer through them and we used to meet once a week or so and talk about writing and other things.

@snowy22315 It was amazing. We discovered that we both wrote for Helium. She lived a few houses away from me and I never had any idea I would meet another Helium writer.

Not that I actively subscribe to, but I get an AARP magazine and a DAV magazine for being a member of the organizations.

I haven't had a hard copy subscription in years.
I prefer the digital versions, although currently I do not subscribe to any.
A sample site that I belong to is always offering free subscriptions of the hard copy or digital magazines, but I prefer to keep my mailing information private and always decline them.

It's been long time, more than five years. I used to get few magazines regularly including Reader's Digest. Now, I am only into reading books and newspaper that I get. And most contents that are available online.

Apart from the Newspapers, I do not have any Print media subscription.
It was still a norm till Mid 2000s but then it stopped with the continuous expansion of Internet and Social media.
Now even many people are not having daily newspapers at their door steps.
Yet if some day I find a print subscription good enough, I will go for it.

@snowy22315 I remember that I subscribed to Reader's Digest. I don't know if it still exists.

Usually in the main reading room, they have current editions of mags.

The only magazine I wanted is the Missouri Conservationist and people in Missouri get it free. People who move out-of-state have to pay for it, though. I get junk mail magazines all the time. I wish they'd stop coming.

@snowy22315 The one from Missouri Conservationist is free but it's more like a paid magazine than a free one. It gives information about hunting rules, has very good articles about wildlife in Missouri and gives instructions about how to avoid dangerous animals here.
That's how I learned about the bears living wild in Missouri before we met one on a canoeing trip. Pretty was maybe 7 years old and had gotten out of the canoe to explore. I was just starting to climb out when I heard something snort. I looked up the river bank and saw a bear staring at her! I yelled at her to get back in the canoe and pushed off the bank as the bear started wandering in our direction. I paddled as hard as I could to get us away from it! Talk about being scared!
I was terrified until we were well away from it! (Pretty told me it was a pretty bear, though. She just wanted to pet it.

@snowy22315 I used to get one but it was unsolicited as far as I remember. It's online so in the end I asked to stop sending the hard copy. I can always go online if I want something.

I used to get Food Network magazine. Most of those recipes are too involved for me though, and or, the ingredients are hard to find or expensive

No, I don't. I just check them once in a while. I don't read or watch the news much.

Occasionally some website or other will decide I need a "free" magazine. I am currently receiving, but do not read Architectural Digest. I am considering donating it to the Library.

No, I haven’t subscribed to a periodical since I signed up for a quarterly Caregiver magazine during my mom’s dementia battle. I thought it might help me or my dad. It was super cheap, but I only subscribed to it two years before she passed away. Since then, I don’t think I have.
