Seasoned politician, Pan Africanist, and ormer prime minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga has lost his bid to become the Chairman of African Union Commission despite efforts by Kenyan government to ensure he wins. What now remains is where he will head to, now that he might not make it to the ballot paper in the coming kenyan elections...

It is definitely a setback, considering the strong backing from the Kenyan government. Calling him “unlucky” may not be justified after all he has been a dominant force in Kenya and Africa for decades, despite many electoral losses. Since he has hinted, he will be stepping back from active presidential politics in Kenya, question is what would be next for him. He might be interested in some international roles perhaps in UN. Or he could groom the next generation of politicians for Kenya or work towards political reforms in Kenya. Perhaps we will all have to wait and watch!
