No Means No

I bet there is at least one person in your life who doesn't take no for an answer. It could be a coworker, family member, friend, neighbor, store owner, anyone. You tell them no and they don't take no for an answer. I'm not even talking about vindictive narcissists who see no as rejection and a justification to destroy your life. No, I'm talking about stubborn people who doesn't accept that no means no.
When I worked as a waitress at a nightclub, I had a coworker who always worked the same times as me. She never took no for an answer no matter how politely I said it when she would tell me to run errands for her, cover for her so she could duck out to call a boyfriend on the job, handle her rowdy customers. Looking back, I really was a pushover. I would just do everything asked of her because I couldn't really win against such a stubborn coworker.
No means no, but some people hear it as maybe and they push you until you say yes and others hear it as no means yes. My current coworkers for my freelancing work are cut-throat and territorial because they are full-time and I am a freelancer, but no one tells me to do things for them so that's a plus. I don't have to say no and then go through the same thing over again like I did with my previous coworker. My previous coworker was fairly nice, but she was always very distracted and uncommitted to her job. She was on her phone constantly on the job and would make me handle her job a lot. After I resigned, she cut me off because I was no use to her.
If you don't have someone like this in your life, not even a narcissist just someone who won't take no for an answer because they are stubborn, then you are very fortunate to not have gone through such a frustrating experience.

The last coworker WAS a narcissist! That's the game.

Really? I've known narcissists all my life and I didn't consider this one was. Maybe she falls into the fake nice narcissist category. You are right.

Luckily most of my nos have been taken as nos.

There is just something about that draws in narcissists and that's why my nos are not nos.

You are a very good mother teaching your child a valuable lesson in life. How many kids do you have? I've always had problems with coworkers thinking of me as a pushover or just being abusive in general. I have bad luck with people in general. Nothing new.

I had been like this for many years and I got slapped hard on the face by many women. Only four years, I changed myself completely
