Happy Family Day

Happy Family Day to Canadians celebrating this wonderful holiday today.
I did not have high hopes for the plans that we made because we had a blizzard over the past few days and did not think that we would be able to get out. Our son's area of town got even more than we did. The snow is piled so high on either side of the driveway at the end, that when you back out of their driveway you have to rely on the sensor to tell you if anyone is coming up the street, because you cannot see over the mountain of snow. 
We went to the Lions Club this morning for the Family Day event. We had a lovely pancake breakfast. After that the girls did some simple weaving and then enjoyed some open play time in the gym while I stayed out in the common area watching and taking care of all of the gear-coats, boots.......It was a really fun time.
After the outing I took this picture of our son and the girls having snuggle time after lunch.

Thats such a nice picture of your son and the girls. It's hard to believe how fast they are growing up.

Thank you, they are so grown up now.
But, on the plus side, they still say 'uppy please' and ask you to pick them up, I don't know how long that will happen. And when we leave they ask to be picked up and they wrap their little arms around your neck and hug you like it will be the last hug you will ever get, and then kiss you and say I love you and give you 5. It is 'quite' the ordeal.

@Juliaacv awww that's so sweet and makes me miss the days when my grandkids were little. Even when they outgrow all those squeezy hugs the memory lasts a lifetime. It's really funny but my grandsons hug me more than my granddaughters do.

Thanks, it was a fun time together.
It did not take our granddaughters long to realize where they were, and they usually go there during the warmer months for indoor swimming lessons. They both asked if they could go outside to the playground, they love playing in that playground, but I reminded them of the snow covering the playground equipment. That ended that discussion.

We did not think that we would get out, but the roads crew surprised us with the work that they did as we slept.
They have more snow at our son's place.
They are quickly running out of places to pile it as they shovel. It won't melt this week as we are under another polar vortex.

Thank you Judy.
We had a nice morning together yesterday.
There were such crowds going to the event.
The side streets, where people usually park, did not have street parking because they haven't plowed the streets and the snow is everywhere. As we were walking to our vehicle we had someone put down their window and ask if we were leaving as they wanted a parking spot.

Yeah, it was a really fun day together.
This afternoon my hubs and I went online together and probably found a great resort for us to stay at this summer for our July holiday. Now we just have to confirm that our son will have that time off so that he isn't needed to watch the twins.
