Today's shopping trip to the little Tesco. (18/2/2025)

I've just been to the little Tesco again. Yesterday MyLot wasn't working so I couldn't come on, but it seems to be working now. Wynne and Joanna: All at Sea wasn't on last because of the EastEnders 40th Anniversary celebration programme. It's on on Wednesday night instead, the same time as usual. Next week it's back to Monday at 8:30pm again. When I came on this morning I found my post about Valentine's Day in Welsh had disappeared, and I was told it was because I said I'd used the Google Copilot AI bot to help with pronunciation! Apparently that means my post was made with AI and AI is not allowed! For using Google? This morning I was late going out to the shop because I was waiting for my Mum to write her in sympathy card for the family of Frances Saxton. I don't know how it takes her so long! My feet started to hurt from standing up so long, so I had to take a sit down while I waited. Eventually the card was written and I set off with Mum's shopping list, club card and £30 in cash. It looks really sunny outside today, and with the sun shining through the window it feels really warm, but when you get outside it's a different story. Even though the sun is shining down, there is a definite nip in the air, so I'm glad I wore my gloves. I posted the in sympathy card first, and then I headed for the shop. I took off my gloves and I got the TV magazines as usual, then I got some chocolate croissants for my Mum and Syd. Syd didn't want a chocolate bar today because he's still got a lot of chocolate left from Valentine's Day. I was tempted to get myself a chocolate bar, but I resisted the temptation! Then I went round and got some little gem lettuces and 1 packet of strawberries. I then looked for a tub of tuna and sweetcorn sandwich spread for my Mum to go on the jacket potatoes. I didn't think I'd be able to get some at first, but then I saw these tubs that were turned backwards so you couldn't see the label to see what they were. They had a sticker saying "reduced" on them, so I picked one up and, low and behold, it was the tuna and sweetcorn! So I put that in my basket. I went round to the end of the isle where the stationary is and I saw some coloured pencils, pastel shades and normal shade packets. They were £1.99 with club card, down from £3.50, and I was very tempted to get those too, but again I resisted the temptation! I got 2 bottles of milk and some honey roast peanuts, and then I went to pay. It came to just over £14 without club card and then just over £13 with club card. The lady apologised for not having any £5 notes. I put my gloves back on and set off for home. When I got home I gave my Mum her change, shopping list and club card, then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Because I was so late setting off for the little Tesco I'd missed the start of Homes Under the Hammer! Anyway, what are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

Our son in Melbourne has a birthday soon and we have to send him a card. I'm out of stamps at the moment so we'll post it later today.

@JudyEv I'm glad you had a good day and you got the card posted. I went to the big Tesco again this afternoon, but I've got some hard skin on the bottom of my foot which hurts, and it was hurting all the way round the shop.
