You hear so much these days about gut bacteria and keeping it healthy, that yesterday when out shopping I bought an affordable bottle of probiotics. I took one this morning. So far I don't notice any difference. I do eat yogurt about everyday which has probiotics in it, but maybe I needed more. What are your feelings on probiotics?

I eat yogurt and take a multivitamin daily. I also do other things like do small work outs to help feel better. I think it's a little of everything that makes you healthy

Yes, but I think to really help your gut bacteria and biome as they call it, a probiotic is important. Besides I probably need it, one time my stomach started to hurt for no reason, and I know I have some diverticulouis as well. However, taking it at a young age, may help ward off some problems as well.

@snowy22315 Anything is possible. I'm good with what I'm doing right now though :) I'm trying to be more active since almost everything I do is so sedentary

My doctor said eating yogurt is fine but not to take probiotics as a supplement. It can cause problems for some people.

Problems such as? I think some might possibly get diarrhea. However, there are a lot of different probiotics out there, just because someone has a problem with one type doesn't mean they will have problems with all. With these, I would say the good definitely outweighs the bad.

Well if you are satisfied with how your body is functioning, maybe you don't need to. You might get enough in the foods you eat.

I take them if I feel constipation. Otherwise, I don't really take them.

I sometimes buy a six-pack of something probiotic but I don't have any regularly. I don't know that I'd expect to feel any different.
