At least the sun is shining / myLot

More times than not in the past 73 years, it's been a sunny day on the 18th of February. My mother told me that it was so warm on this day back in '52, that my father took his coat off walking from the bus stop after visiting us in the hospital. Yes, the sun is shining but it's -9°C/15°F out there, with at least a foot of snow in places... By the time I shoveled my way out to my walker (under the patio cover) I'd be too pooped to shovel the walk out to the road. And of course the roads are full of snow... I need cake! But all I have is a bit of fruitcake left from Christmas. I can't even get to Tim Horton's (a few blocks from here) for a donut! I need caaakkke! With lots of whipped cream icing.

So there are no delivery services where you are? If I need to I can order food from companies like Instacart or Grubhub or Ubereats, it's nice to be able to get what I want at times.

Me too but it beats trying to drive during times when there's too much road construction going on, at 75 thats the last thing I want to try to navigate

I can understand as it's difficult to get it delivered because of the snow. Why don't you try it at home?

Thank you. Three candles on the cake for me, none for my dad... his bd was the 20th so we always shared a cake.
