My old friend and her husband came and got me yesterday. We have known each other since our kids were little.
We went to lunch. I wanted to go to my favorite place to eat but it was closed on Monday. We ended up somewhere else and got some tasty chicken crispers.
Then we went to the beach and walked around. We loved it. It was a cool windy day so we did not go in the water. It was so beautiful there.
It was even better to reconnect with old friends and talk about old times.
Do you ever reconnect with old friends you have not seen in years? We live in different states so it makes it hard.
What do you like to eat for lunch when you eat out? Do you like the beach?

It is a fun place to walk and look for things. It was peaceful because it was cold and most people sat on benches in the front. We could not find any place to sit. On our beaches, you bring a blanket or rent chairs and umbrellas for a certain number of hours. It was a good place to talk about old times.

My old friends have all moved away but I talk with them once in a while or text them. And I've only been to a beach two times in my life. I did enjoy the times I was on a beach, once with Pretty and once by myself.
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit with your friends. It's always nice when old friends visit.

Did you go to an ocean beach or one on a lake? Did you enjoy walking or tanning on the beach? I like to collect shells and the little things I see in the sand. Once, a little boat came sailing across the water right into my hands. I saw it as a little dot far away and kept getting bigger as it got closer. I think a child dropped it from a boat or it came from Canada. I added it to the kids' bath toys. You never know what you might find.

@akalinus We went to a beach in California. "Beaches" around a lake aren't made of sand. They're made of gravel here and those aren't beaches. We refer to them as the edge of the lake.
I don't tan. I burn without sunscreen. I wrote a discussion talking about the day I was at the beach by myself. I'm not patient enough to try to tan. I get bored and want to do something.
We still have a basket of shells we picked up on the beach in California. They're on the shelf between the kitchen and the living room here. We also found a diver's watch while picking up shells. I left it with the shells in a shoebox in our garage for years. One day I was in the garage and an alarm kept sounding. I looked and looked and finally figured out that watch was going off. It was too corroded for me to be able to turn the alarm off, though.

@DaddyEvil It was awesome to find a watch. I hope the diver was okay. Alarms are strange things. When I took the garbage out the other day, something was beeping in the dumpster. It was shrill, and I could not tell where it was coming from. I hope someone did not accidentally throw their phone away.

Sounds like a wonderful day- good food, good company and a great beach! There is always happiness and special about reconnecting with old friends and remembering shared memories. I do try to stay in touch with old friends, though it has not been frequent as I would love to. Life gets busier as we grow up and things can drift apart. We do catch up whenever possible like no time passed. For lunch, I love a good mix of flavourful- may be a nice sandwich. Chicken crispers sound delicious! As for the beach, I love it. Whether it’s just enjoying the sound of waves, watching sunder or walking along the shore, it is always refreshing and relaxing. Take care!
