Teamwork from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) Deputies Emegrency Department, Pueblo West Fire, Pueblo West Metro District, the Community Animal Rescue Team and a veterinarian answered a call for help after a female horse was found with half of her body stuck in a septic tank on Saturday February 8.
A veterinarian put the horse to sleep for a short while the rescue team placed straps around her waist and her front legs.
The horse was then raised by a crane to get her out of the septic tank and on firm ground when the female horse did come to her senses and is in good condition thanks to the efforts of the rescue team.

I am glad she was rescued but how in the world did she get into that septic tank??? Now the authorities should look around the area and make sure all septic tanks are closed up prperly

Good question how the horse fell into the septic tank.

I hope that the horse was washed down after spending time in the septic tank, as it might have raised quite a stink being dunked in such sewage waste for a length of time, but it was good that it was rescued without too much trauma to the horse.

I saw a horse in a similar situation several years ago. But she was pregnant. I'm glad this one was okay.

@Deepizzaguy ......Yes, it was odd. I believe the vet handled it much the same way. I don't recall.
