You have the right idea! I had no idea you guys were getting so much snow though, wow. My heat is on low because I get hot so easily, but I am wearing a scarf around my neck. I’m concerned my neck will get too tense and cause a migraine.

@DaddyEvil I love the look of snow crystals. Sure, not the results, but at first it’s SO pretty!

@AmbiePam During the night it started snowing little crystals. It just sparkled in the light on our front porch. We had less than an inch when I took my meds at 5:30 am. I woke up around 4:30 and saw the street completely covered over. There's nothing that can be done about the snow or cold... I hope you don't get a migraine. Good luck with that!

I’m a rarity in that I actually like the cold. Now, I say that knowing this snowy weather doesn’t last long here. If I lived on the East Coast I imagine I’d be irritable during winter. But I love getting under a blanket and snuggling with my dog and hot cider. But if my electricity was always going out due to ice storms I’d be rallying my family to move. I long for the weather you’re describing in July and August. I would pay anything to have that kind of weather here during that time of year. Does it stay like that during those months?

@much2say I grew up in Oklahoma where I spent most of my time in the terrible heat. But I do vaguely remember the two years of my childhood where we lived in California, and shockingly (to us Oklahoma natives) we didn’t need an air conditioner. Even when we went back to visit California, I marveled to my mom we didn’t need to turn on the room’s air. But I know some places in California, like you said, can get into the high 100s. I’ve never been able to tolerate heat, and it’s a darn shame since I doubt I ever leave Oklahoma for good.

@AmbiePam Did you grow up in the cold? I love going on day trips to see the snow as it's so beautiful, but brrrrrrr, I know I am such a wimp to cold. I am so un-acclimated to snow that I would totally be under blankets and dogs, and pouring hot cider all over me . My late FIL grew up in NH - he could never stand that kind of cold and that's why he moved to CA, he says. The low 70s is our spring time . . . our July/August is usually in the high 90s/100s . But like you and the cold, I'm a heat person . . . we are nuts that we don't ever turn on the AC. I heard on a radio program that CA weather is most unpredictable and inconsistent out of all the states. It's never the same or similar each year. But we certainly can count on "heat".

I’m hoping to bring you sunshine and a package by next week. My appointments keep getting canceled which means I’m not getting out anywhere. Of course, I think you and I discovered this last time not only is sunshine not guaranteed, but the post office doing it’s job in a timely manner isn’t either!

@AmbiePam Yes, but it was light. Only a few flurries this AM. I am not going anywhere today, but I wouldn't be afraid to.

I don’t mind rain, but I don’t like a heavy presence of gloom.

His wife wanted them, and he’d do it for her. Granted, he’ll tell her she’s being ridiculous, but he WILL go get them.

I always worry when people’s power goes out.

He’s an older fella, and it makes me nervous that he’s out at all. He tells me if we had an X-ray contest he’d bet my bones would look older than his bones so I should worry more about myself than him.

I hate that you and yours have to get out with ice the way it is. Ice here just doesn’t last long enough to greatly annoy me, but your snow and ice never seems to end.

@AmbiePam Most winters, what we get never lasts this long. We have it a few days and it warms up and it's mostly gone. This has been a very unusual winter of extremely cold temperatures. We only go where we absolutely have to go. Thank you for worrying about me, Amber.
