Snow Drifts

February 18, 2025 11:36pm CST
This week felt like the first official week of true winter in Nebraska. There has been every kind of bug under the (cloudy) sun around these here parts- and our family caught a few. We are not Pokémon people…not trying to catch them all. But it is a time to rest and renew…(and pine for the sun and beaches to appear as a mirage in the backyard…) As I began work Monday afternoon I realized how white the sky suddenly became. I turned my back an hour later to look out again, and again- now surprised of Jack Frost’s intentions snowing the whole night through! Sideways, swirly ways, in clumps, in sprinkles- it was very festive. My car wore a giant coat of fluffy down. The schools are closed again today- and again tomorrow. How’s a girl supposed to work around here?! Alas- many of us on here I bet, are working in a way. At this point we NEED to earn income without stepping face-first into those 4 foot snow drifts- ya know? Meanwhile I’m in a secret peace thinking “you can’t find me…” I’ll be here, sipping on my cayenne caffeine hiding away in my white fluffy bio-dome. Cheers, February.

Welcome to myLot community..I am sure that you are going to have a good time here We don't get snow or even extreme winter where we stay. So, when it snows in winters in Himalayas of our country, it gets flooded with tourists. I have stayed in the US and the UK and could experience such snow falls. It looks gorgeous but can be annoying after a while. Stay warm indoors.

I understand- I’d love to see the Himalayas! This is how I fee about it- it’s so windy and cold here usually, the snow kind of makes it fun (minus the road hazards). Thanks for reaching out! Bless all your seasons too :)

@Highmaintenancehippi Himalaya is beautiful, a magnificent beauty. I too enjoyed the snow during my stay in the other countries. I would never take my car out in snow.

This really sums up winter perfectly; chaotic, beautiful, and kind of a hassle all at once. It’s crazy how fast the weather can turn, and suddenly everything is buried in snow. I feel you on the school closures and trying to get work done—winter really has a way of throwing a wrench into things! But there’s also something nice about being tucked away, watching it all from the warmth of home. Hope you and your family stay cozy and healthy through all the winter madness!

I'm so sorry you've had snow. I don't like snow and being snowed in.
