Coconuts are fruit, not nut, and are actually known as a drupe. This is a subcategory, defined as fruits. They have the inner freshness and are surrounded by a hard shell. This also includes other fruits such as peaches, pears, walnuts, and almonds. The mature green coconut has more tender meat than the brown and nicer milk.
The coconut is a highly nutritious fruit with a high-fat content. It is rich in antioxidants and may even support better blood sugar control.

The U S gets its coconuts from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Pacific Islands.
The Thai Nam Hom coconut is well-known worldwide and is thought to be the sweetest and best of the varieties. It has a pandan-like fragrance and offers a naturally sweet taste. The Coco de Mer variety is said to be the most expensive type costing hundreds of dollars.

Good to read a post by a user who does not grow them in her garden.
Coconuts grow here and I have coconut trees. We sell them after keeping some for our consumption.
In the photo you see harvested coconuts by the climber

A climber should make some good money or get some free coconuts for his work.

@allknowing ......good! I'm afraid of heights so seeing them up in the trees makes me nervous. They should get good pay for that.

Do you eat them? Coconut flesh is really delicious and the water is refreshing.

I want to acquire a taste for them. I like them in drinks but by themselves they aren't a favorite of mine.

@celticeagle The white flesh inside the coconut is very tender and meaty. I enjoy it once in a while.

Coconuts are similar to dates and can live anywhere without water. I in the past have the coconuts tree and every time harvest I would climb like a monkey and pick it with a machete.
Unfortunately, it is really not good to plant it if it disturbs other houses and then decides to cut down the tree including the roots.

Get them fresh off the tree, huh? Nice! The tree grows weird too sometimes.

I've only had one coconut in my life. I hope to find a coconut drink I like so I can drink it for the nutrients.
