Remember the 1973 movie "Soylent Green"?. It had Edward G. Robinson and Charlton Heston in it. It was about a futuristic densely populated New York City whose residents are starving. Also about a mystery about a murder and looking into a large corporation called Soylent. This company produces a wafer-like food substitute made primarily from pulverized human remains. Well, I found online a drink called 'soylent protein shake'. Would you buy this product?

I would if 1. I liked proteins...I don't. My reports say I have more than enough. So I will stick to nice carbohydrates... 2. I never saw that movie, but ...I am glad your Dumb Blond President did something about illegal immigration. It results in excessive manufacture of kids back of home in India. Nobody is ready to believe that their kids have no future. Now, the reality will sink...and stink. LOL. Somebody had to rub it in...Even Musk needs that reality check. Fortune is not forever.

@vandana7 Most likely, if they are anything like my kids were. "Ma, I need money."

That is a good movie. I loved Charlton Heston. I haven’t seen the shakes.

I liked the movie but can't stand Charleton Heston. I haven't seen the shakes either but thought naming it that was rather weird.

Yes, I remember the movie. Dad wanted to watch it and so we kids watched it, too. And yes, Pretty buys the Soylent Protein shakes. I tried one and they aren't bad at all. She and her friends were joking about the Soylent shakes when they first came out.

@DaddyEvil Even knowing it was a movie, I still would not buy that stuff. I also look on some foods with suspicion. Things shown in movies or read in books often become reality. How do we know that some strange concoction is not made of people? Yuck!

They were trying to get people to buy this on Swagbucks. Can you believe that? I would not touch it if I were starving. Soylent is people. I read the book but did not see the movie.

i think so. This movie was icky and when you realize what they are talking about......Oh my goodness. It is said to be a science fiction but I think it should also be on the horror list.
