My son fell asleep while driving when we were on a vacation in Baguio City. I told my cousin about it. He told me that it's really dangerous for a driver who fall asleep while driving. He told me that what makes a driver alive is Toblerone. He said that it's the only way to avoid sleep while driving. Have you tried this while you were driving?

That is scary. Someone needs to be awake and talk to him while driving, coffee and chocolates can make him awake

@pahak627 that is really scary. I've been in the situation. One should be fully awake to accompany the driver

@rakski Yes, really. I really watched him while driving. I really tried not to sleep during the travel so that I could watch him closely. I'm really afraid he would sleep.

No, there's nothing in a Toblerone that will keep a person awake if they are sleepy. They're just made of milk chocolate, honey, almonds, and nougat. At least the ones in the US are.

Toblerone that are sold here came from the US. It's just what my cousin told me. I don't know if he had even tried it.

@pahak627 Sometimes I will eat something as I drive but I usually buy grapes because I have to concentrate on pulling them off the vine and not dropping them and that keeps me awake while driving.

@DaddyEvil Every person really has his own way of avoiding sleep while driving. Thanks for that.

I remember when we were travelling long distance by bus the driver always had a companion who would keep him awake by talking

Yes that's what is always seen during long distance travel. The conductor is always at the driver's side and they talk. That is really what should be done.

Yes, I hope so. But we haven't gone for a long trip yet. They had one last week, but I didn't go with them.

It sounds very scary! Falling asleep while driving is definitely fatal. Many accidents have happened across the world many a time. People used to take turns while driving at night. Some tried with coffee, music, cold air and even rest and sleep before trying to reach the destination. However, Toblerone is a new one. I have not heard of it but have not tried it while driving. I do not think anyone I am aware of has tried the same. I am little curious. Can such a tasty thing cut down sleep? I always thought any food or sweet item could cause sleep. Have a wonderful day!
