Los Angeles firefighters answered an emergency call from witnesses who reported a fire at a building on Tuesday morning. The firefighters used saws to cut through the bars to rescue a 29 year old woman and a 10 year old boy who were trapped inside of the burning building safely. The fire victims were taken by an ambulance to a local hospital where they are being treated for injuries in the fire. The medical conditions of both victims of the fire are not known at this time. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the authorities. Link is firehouse.com/rescue/technic...

Having a really secure house can be a nightmare for firemen if there is a fire.

Sometimes such high level security as bars, works against one, as here, in a fire situation, and it was good that they could be rescued. I wonder if the Fire department will get a bill to repair the bars?

The same problem my relatives and myself used to have when we lived in Metairie Louisiana before the iron bars were taken down for safety reasons.
