It is now 11:42am, Friday and I just felt a bit hungry. I haven't had anything other than black coffee since last dinner. But I will take my brunch, sauteed bitter gourd with eggs and ground pork. Yum! Do you like eating bitter gourd?

@rakski You could bring some with you when you visit and make it for me. I told Sam I wanted him to make some of the foods he makes at home for me when he comes here, too. I just don't want him to hit my pots and pans like he does theirs while he's cooking.

Oh, I don't like bitter gourd at all. I don't like anything that tastes bitter. I know many people say bitter gourd is very healthy, but the taste is still the most important for me now

I just cut it and eat it raw . I only know of bitter gourd because of my Japanese parents - otherwise, I don't see it in most markets (only Asian markets). I would totally eat that the way you made it - with rice .

@rakski I am thinking probably most people don't. My parents stir fried it up and ate it with some kind of miso sauce.

We do not mix bitter gourd with anything else It is marinated in salt and the liquid squeezed out for the bitterness to go. It is then cooked adding jaggery and the usual masala.

I actually love bitter gourd and egg for breakfast. Unfortunately it is very expensive here in the UK. Like a small piece of bitter gourd for 5£ at the Asian shops it makes me cry.

I did not like bitter gourd too bitter. However today, i drink a fish soup that contain bitter gourd. It is so tiny that I barely tasted the bitter taste. Just that the soup is a little bitter. First time eat that without complaining.

I do not think it is available here in stores. I could possibly grow my own if I had the seed and the season was long enough.
