As Congressional oversight collapses, can American citizens disassociate from the Musk/trump administration?

There seems to be a growing disconnect between what the Musk/trump team want to do on behalf of the USA and what Americans by-and-large intend for the USA to represent. This can best be seen in the increasing dissatisfaction with and unfavourability of the Musk/trump administration.''
How can the citizens of a country disassociate from its leaders until those leaders can be ousted from their positions through elections?

If harris/biden had done so well, the 81 million voters wouldn't have disassociated themselves from harris-biden. Instead, Trump is now President.

@MarkPaul Get over it, Mark. Your delusional state of mind is not healthy.

Both the title and your opening remark are...remarkable.
For one, when did oversight EVER do their job? If they had done oversight, we wouldn't need to have a special agency to look at the books. Yeesh.
As for the "growing disconnect," WHERE is this disconnect occurring exactly? 77 million Americans voted FOR Trump. 77 million Americans KNEW Musk would be appointed to run DOGE. 77 million Americans KNEW what DOGE was going to do. 77 million Americans VOTED for Trump to do what he said he wanted to do: drain the swamp and look at the books and reduce waste, fraud and abuse. 77 million Americans WANTED a smaller government and less bureaucrats running the show.
Meanwhile, Trump is enjoying high approval numbers.
All I want to know is when are the Democrats going to get the memo. Trump won on a clear mandate on a variety of issues that the Democrats made their arguments on and lost. Trump is not only doing what the American people asked him to do. He is doing what the American people VOTED for.
If that were NOT the case, we'd be talking about Kamala Harris' agenda and how her first 100 days are looking.

trump has declining favourability ratings and Musk is considered even less than favourable. Protests are breaking out all over the world and to get ahead of your recitation, the protesters are not ANTIFA... they include Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who aren't impressed with the performance of a chainsaw wielding cringe (illegal) immigrant. So, his so-called mandate is now even more of a fantasy than it was before.
But, polls aside, as Elon does all the work to give his companies a competitive advantage through trump's inattention and apathy, trump sits subserviently next to Elon's nose-picking son and fantasizes being a king. A 79-year-old man fantasizing being a king, complete with cover art made up special (at taxpayer expense, I'm sure). Imagine that. But, you defend that. Apologise for that. And, twist yourself into a pretzel to describe that as "normal" behaviour for an adult while claiming to be an independent critical thinker.
