Talking about cats..poor sis

Sis took one of her cats to the vet for surgery because he had something on his head that was thought to be a cyst, but I was chatting with my mom who said Jimminy (cat) ended up having a lot of surgery. I was wondering if it was a tumor. Sis is probably at work now, so hopefully I will get the scoop later. Maybe the cyst was just deep or something. It seems like whenever she has a cat or two they end up needing some expensive procedure. She isn't lucky like that. He is a young cat too..only 4 I think, Hopefully everything is OK.

The after care is more concerning as atleast here cats do not co-operate.

My mother said the cat had 9 teeth pulled. That sounds really strange. She never mentioned the cat had dental issues.

@snowy22315 That sounds strange. Poor cat. What happens now? Does the cat live without teeth or do they get replaced? I've never had any pets so I have no idea about these things.

@lilacskies They can survive without them..I don't know how many teeth they have in their mouth though. I really hope the vet discussed this with her though, I would be furious if they just did it, as I would want a second opinion.

She hadn't noticed the cat having many issues, so I just wonder how necessary this really was?

She says he is much improved since yesterday, but won't take his pain meds even in food Sounds like a cat.

Definitely not lucky, poor cat and poor sis too. I hope Jimminy heals from the surgery quickly and safely.

Thanks, I hope so. I will try to talk to her tonight. I am sure she is not feeling very happy about the whole thing, and most certainly Jiminy is not!

Yeah, his sister is Cricket
. She was going to get his teeth cleaned apparently while he was there, and they removed 9 teeth! I don't know if they discussed that with her or just went to work. If they didn't notify her I would have been mad. I would have wanted a second opinion.
