Dinner Helped

I have been feeling sick all day, but dinner helped make me feel noticeably better. I had linguine with clams for dinner today. Linguine is a type of Italian pasta. It's always a treat to eat homemade food cooked by my mama, and seafood just makes it so much better.
I am back in bed, feeling a bit better, and trying to go back to sleep. Unfortunately, I'm facing another battle once again. I'm facing my battle with insomnia. I hope to sleep at least four hours tonight. I am wide awake though. My body is begging me to sleep, but the moment I close my eyes, my mind starts racing and I kick off the blanket in frustration. I can't sleep at all. I am trying to distract myself to become tired enough to go back to sleep. So far it's not working one bit.

I miss my mama’s cooking. My daddy was a really good cook too. He taught me my mama.

@lilacskies I call my mother mama, but not sure honestly if she deserves the title. My mom loves me, but always puts herself first

I'm sorry to hear that. I love that you call your mama the same as me. I haven't seen anyone else do that on here until you so I felt a bit awkward. My papa used to cook when he was single, but my mama took over the kitchen when they got married. She doesn't let anyone cook in her kitchen. Her kitchen, her rules. Not even my grandma when she visits and offers to make something.

@snowy22315 I'm so glad you do the same. I was feeling awkward for a while calling her that on here since I didn't notice anyone else calling their mamas that. I'm sorry to hear that. Do you have a strained relationship with your mama?

Maybe an antidepressant would help you sleep. One thing I can't stand is not sleeping. Linguine with clam sauce sounds good.

@lilacskies Yummy, I have made it a couple of times, but just using the canned clams they have at the grocery store. Good luck at the hospital. I hope you get something that will help.

I tried, but it didn't help at all last night. I'm going to a hospital today. Yes, it was very good and contained fresh clams from a local grocery store.

@snowy22315 Yes, the clams were very fresh. We never had canned clams before, but I'm sure they are still very good. Thank you. I hope they give me stronger antibiotics today. I am leaning forward because my chest hurts so much.

Thank you! It was really good. The clams are fresh from a local grocery store. I only managed three hours and would love to have a proper night's sleep again.

I was given sleeping pills from 2015 to 2020, but my body grew immune to them. They don't work anymore. I tried for years.

@lilacskies I'm sorry that your body is immune already with sleeping pills. Are there any other steps doctors suggested after sleeping pills don't work anymore?

Thank you. I stayed awake as long as I could and managed only three hours of sleep due to my chest pains and insomnia. I'm going to a hospital today.
