I have liked the ones I have tried, but unless you get one that is very creamy, they are not good to use in coffee as they just don't have the fat content Also, I don't like them in certain things because they alter the taste a bit. I like almond milk in oatmeal alot it is really good.I like oat milk to drink. It's delicious and creamy. It reminds me of whole milk without the calories. Do you ever buy plant based milks, and if so, what do you use them in ?

We buy almond milk and I like it in cereal and in my cooking. Pretty bought some pea based milk called "ripple". (She got a coupon for it that made it free.) It made my Knorr pasta taste weird and I didn't like it. I hate throwing away food so I did eat it but told her not to buy that anymore. I don't think she likes it, either. The bottle is still in the fridge.

I don't think I have tried that but coconut milk was really good. I would like to try cashew and rice milk as well. I read a really good recipe the other day that used rice milk, but now of course, I can't emremember what it was

@snowy22315 I forget where I found a recipe that sounds delicious if I don't stop whatever I'm doing and download/ write it down when I see it. That bugs the crap out of me.

Try creamy oat milk. It tastes just like whole milk with half the calories

@BelleStarr I do drink it primarily. I just buy plant based milks as alternatives. 8 ounces of this almond milk is only 80 calories.

@snowy22315 I am not tempted, I am not a plant based person, I love cow's milk and I have no intolerance. Why don't you drink cow's milk?

I used to make health shakes with coconut milk. They were okay, but it’s hard for me to get used to.

I use soy milk in my coffee all the time I like it a lot better then the taste of cows milk. Almond milk is okay in coffee but it’s been so long I can’t remember if I liked cows milk better in coffee or almond milk.

I haven't tried soy milk in coffee, but I don't like almond milk in it. Creamy oatmilk is rich though and tastes really good in coffee.

I tink those types of milks would be very good if you had a milk allergy.

I've tried a bunch and they all felt like water to me. I've heard positive opinions about cashew milk but I've never found it in stores. Besides, all these milks tend to be quite expensive so I'd rather grind the nuts or grains finely and add water, should be the same after all.

The cost of almonds here is definitely more than the milk would be.

@snowy22315 Nuts are expensive too, but then the derived milk has very little of it. Then the plant-based milks stores sell here have so little fat and protein and lots of carbs. I prefer the real thing for nutrition too.

My husband has a curry recipe that calls for coconut milk. Aside from that, we don't really get plant-based milks. We usually have a half gallon of regular cow's milk and a half gallon of the lactose-free stuff on hand because my husband and oldest kid are fine with the normal stuff but the youngest and I are both lactose intolerant. Plant-based ice cream substitutes, though... bring 'em on.

I am not a milk drinker and haven't been for years now. I used to enjoy the very occasional glass of it, but for some reason, now I do not want it anymore. I drink my coffee black, and I don't eat cold cereal. I do cook some with milk, of course. My son enjoys milk. My oldest daughter uses oatmilk in her coffee and on cereal, etc. I tried it and it's not bad, but I still don't want to drink any milk.

I hope you are taking a multivitamin then. Your body needs calcium and Vitamin D.D3 specifically.

I use almond milk in protein shakes and it's okay when mixed with other ingredients. But, like most plant-based foods (cheese, meat, etc.) it takes quite a bit of focused imagination to pretend you are eating "the real thing" to get past the taste and after-taste. And, that's not always successful. I have tried almond milk in oatmeal and that's not bad. I use almond milk for its reduced fat and sugar content. It's downside is it has nearly no protein so I end up having to supplement to support my workouts.

I don't find that it tastes unpleasant or leaves an aftertaste. If I didn't like something I wouldn't use it.
