Restaurant was out of burgers

Saturday afternoon my mom and I went to a restaurant near her house to celebrate her birthday with some friends and family. She along with three other people wanted to get a burger but they were out. Then for dessert my mom and few other people wanted pavlova but they were out of that too.
What a bummer! The other times we were at this restaurant with my mom they always had burgers and pavlova too. The owner told us they were very busy Friday and they had a party Saturday so they ran out.
Everyone that didn’t get to eat the burger wants to return there again to try the burgers. I think before we go there we should call to make sure they actually have them.

Aha. Birthday celebrations should go our way. At least the Peruvian restaurant we celebrated Mom’s birthday at Sunday (with other relatives) had everything we ordered.
Three days of celebrating for my mom. I’ve never done that.

Yep. My mom and her friend got veal osso bucco ravioli instead. Another person got braised short ribs. And another got a chicken dish. And for dessert there was pana cotta, which was really good.

@lovebuglena I don't know you will be charged 4% credit card fee in your side. Here it's the same no matter you pay by cash or credit card.

No discount for us unfortunately. But because we paid in case we didn’t have to pay the 4% credit card fee.

@youless restaurants don’t want to pay the fee so they pass it on to the customers. Some restaurants are nice and if you pay with cash they give you a discount. One place we go to gives us 10% off if we pay with cash.

I actually ordered a sole (fish) entree but sucks that Mom didn’t get to eat it as it’s her fave burger.

That is quite a letdown! It’s frustrating when you go to a place for specific items and then they are out of stock, especially on a special occasion like your mom’s birthday/ I am sure it was disappointing for everyone who had been craving for burgers and pavlova. It is nice to hear they explained the situations, though they seem to have had busy weekend. Perhaps calling ahead next time would be a smart idea. No one wants to go a place and get disappointed. Plus, gives you time to plan for alternatives if needed. Hopefully they will stock everything next time and should be ready for your next visit! Well, good to know everyone wants to give it a try another one. Take care!

If we go back there with other people will definitely call ahead to make sure they got the burgers.

That's a shame. I agree with you. I think it would be best to call ahead to see if they have burgers next time you want to visit.

What are the odds that all other times they had burgers there but when we go to celebrate my mom’s birthday they are out? That never even crossed my mind that they’d be out.

We ate there. They just ordered something else in place of the burgers. Food there is really good.

That's actually a bummer! It's better to call them beforehand and then go. Seems like their burgers are too good for everyone wanting to go there again for it.
