Let me get this straight...the UN's decision should be above the rest of nations, right?

So a Putin Zelensky ceasefire was designed by the UN.
Can a member (read the USA), refuse to accept it?
Surely that is undemocratic!!!
At the UN, all members vote and the majority wins....so why would an individual nation flex its muscles?
Is it because the USA thinks ..we started the League of Nations, which then became a precursor to the UN. So, we being the creators of such mechanism, the relevant rules do not apply to us.
Seriously .......?
Whatever be the hopes and desires...........for the good of mankind............find a solution...like of yesterday. And don't oppose them...more opportunities will come....nobody will be left behind.

I really hope there is some justification. I am fine with Aid not being given to India. We have enough. Our politicos use it for wrong reasons...so that is actually something I liked.
When we take aid from a nation, we deny something to the poor of that nation. I saw a video on YouTube of a young girl saying she swallows saliva when she feels hungry. That had me crying...she was from the US...and gathering these milk covers. We have rag pickers here too. I never bothered about them as much as I do after I learned about this child.

@vandana7 I do feel that each country should take care of their own first. But they don't plan on doing that here even if they do save money

The five permanent members of the UN Security Council (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) have the power to veto any decision other than a "procedural" decision.

The whole thing is complex when it comes to UN and how decisions are made. While UN is based on the majority rule, the powers of member states like USA have significant influence due to their veto power in the security council. So, these powerful countries can veto any decision made or backed by majority of countries. Again, US is big super power and the decisions now would be more tilted for what US would like to have. Ukraine in this war had no choice else to compromise with Russia although Russia was the aggressor. It is frustrating when politics comes way of progress or peace or wellbeing of humanity. Your point about finding a solution for the benefits of mankind is something that should ideally be prioritized. The more opportunities for dialogue and cooperation are step forward. Not sure, if such situations can return in this world.

Are countries even obligated to listen to the UN? The UN can make suggestions, but they don't need to be accepted nor obeyed.

trump hopes to be a dictator and the citizens of the US have lost all control... trump is stupid, no matter what other people believe.
