Some citizens in northeast Missouri took time off from their daily lives to take a plunge into the Forest Lake swimming beach in Thousand Hills State Park on Saturday.
The citizens participated at the Kirksville Polar Plunge to raise awareness and money for the Special Olympic Missouri.
The citizens who volunteered to raise awareness for the Special Olympians raised over $28,000 dollars.
It is nice for citizens in Missouri to raise money for the Special Olympics to give back to their communities.

That is good to know that you could survive cold water by taking a plunge.
