I know I talk about this too much...

I have posted about spam calls in the past.
However, last week I was just done with them. I muted my phone. Apparently this also mutes texts, which I would like to get.
Having done this and averaging between 15 and 20 spam calls a day, I have noticed one strange thing. It seems that I have more times than I care for it, get back to back calls. This happens a lot!
Now, I figure if the call is important they will leave a message. So far... so far I've had 3 messages that are just open lines, sometimes with a low buzz. I've gotten 2 about tax debt - which I don't have because I have owed taxes exactly 1 time in my life, all of $32... The last one I heard what sounded like a lot of background noise, like a call center.
I have noticed I've had none on Sundays.
So far today I've had 16 calls, as of 3:30 p.m.
I guess of all the spam calls I have gotten, the one that came in at 7:45 one morning. I opened that up and snarled: You are not supposed to call before 8 a.m.! ***click

I have been blocking numbers constantly. Finally getting it down to very few calls. Only one today.

I rarely get spam calls and when I do, I never answer them and just wait until they hang up. It's really rare though. Not even once a month.

The thing about spam callers, they don't check zones when they call people. The idea they want to catch people off guard.

@kaylachan Since I don't get calls at all kinds of weird hours, I suspect their phone dialer knows the time. Area codes are set up so they cover areas. It should be possible to program that into the system. And since this was the only call I have gotten before 8 a.m. I think it is obvious they can do it.

@ElicBxn Here that might be, emergencies not withstanding. But, when you consider there are people who pull of thease scams in forigen counteries, it's hard to nail them for "quiet hours" much less the larger crime of scaming.

I kept blocking numbers that were spam calls. I almost never get them anymore.

Blocking numbers isn't going to do me much use, since they'll just spoof a different number. I got a call once, before the "WHAT!" era, and this guy was on the other end. I did ask what he wanted. Turned out he had gotten a spoofed call from MY number.

@ElicBxn That's never happened with me. I don't know what to tell you in that case. Good luck with it, I guess.

I understand why do discuss the number of spam calls you get a day since you have a write to get what bothers you off of your chest.
