Was It A Misunderstanding ?

A couple of days back I had told you about my neighbour who perhaps felt offended just because his jokes were not funny enough to make me laugh. I had planned to go and talk to him to see how he reacts. But before I could implement my plan; he himself came to me and began talking to me as if nothing had happened two days back. I also talked to him. We kept talking about many things taking place, around us; but neither of us mentioned about the misunderstanding. Was it really a misunderstanding?? Or; did he realized his fault?? I don't know. But I'm happy nothing undesirable happened.

Sounds like this situation worked out better than you expected! It’s possible that your neighbour either realized his joke did not land as intended and decided to let it go or he may have felt the relationship with you is not worth giving up for this issue. Sometimes people do not want to live with the small misunderstandings and prefer to move forward without acknowledging the same. It is possible ne never realized it affected you the way it did and simply acted as usual. The best thing is you both managed to talk without tension. That shows a level of maturity from both sides. It could have been misunderstanding after all or he might have chosen not to let it impact the relationship. Either way, it is good that things did not worsen. The important thing would be to maintain a cordial relationship going forward. Take care!

You are right. It all was a pleasant surprise for me. I had never expected the issue would take such a positive turn. He came from behind me and put his hand on my shoulder. I saw him . He smiled and the next second we began talking. We are friends again. And that what matters to.me.What is good is it happened. I'm happy that we are friends again.

My guess would be that he didn't want the friendship to falter because his jokes weren't very good so he's pretending nothing happened and hope you'll do the same. Unless you really don't like him, I'd just leave it at that.

That's what I guess. I didn't remind him what happened that day. I like my neighbor and did not want our friendship to end.. If he took the initiative to end the deadlock; I'm happy.

In my opinion you misunderstood him, he might not have felt offended if you didn't like his jokes.

It sounds like everything is still good between the two of you.
