Here we can throw out furniture. When it’s garbage day we put it out on the curb and sanitation picks it up. Free of charge. Do you not have that where you live?

It is fantastic you were able to find a charity like American Samaritan to get the chairs for free- giving them to families in need is a great way to pass them on. You did make a smart choice by avoiding junk fees and saving yourself the trouble of paying movers for unnecessary items. I totally understand the frustration with sale of things- people sometimes do not follow through and it becomes harder to clear out. Listing your brass plant stand is a good idea though hopefully someone will see value it and come through/ It is definitely a win-win when you pass along things which still have value without having the costs for storage. Although it is a hassle to deal with unreliable buyers, perhaps you minimize your extra expenses. Fingers cross someone pick it up soon and you get the space ready with much costs. All the best!

Glad they picked up your chairs. Gosh, people just dump stuff out in front here - whether it's a house or apartment. In most cases someone is bound to take them. I think the city will pick up big stuff here too - we call 311.
