Another near-miss between planes at a Chicago airport

A Southwest plane was about to land at Chicago's Midway today when a small private jet crossed the runway right in the path of the larger plane. The Southwest pilot was able to pull the plane back up and higher into the air to avoid the private jet. He performed what they call a "go around". The pilot was heard by air traffic control saying "how did that happen?" It is a good thing that Elmo is firing FAA employees and that air traffic controllers are already working mandatory 10-hour shifts 6 days a week. I mean what could go wrong? I'm so happy that the pilot was fast on his feet (as it were) and his training gave him the ability to prevent what surely would have been a tragic accident.
A SOUTHWEST plane and a private jet have narrowly avoided a crash in the latest air emergency to plague the United States. Harrowing video captured the close call on a runway at the Chicago Midway …

It's really getting beyond a joke. Imagine the mayhem if they'd collided.

This has to end. Or a LOT of people are going to die unnecessarily. What a nightmare.
