Body Says This, Mind Says That

My body is begging me to go to sleep, that it's exhausted, and that it wants sleep. My mind on the other hand is telling me to stay wide awake, that it refuses to sleep, and that it won't let me sleep tonight either. I am so frustrated. I want to sleep. I even tried sleeping for two hours today, but that turned out to be a complete disaster. So I tried to distract myself, sleep again, distract myself, sleep again for another hour and that didn't help either. Now I'm trying to distract myself again so that I get tired enough to fall asleep because this is the only method that even works anymore to get any sleep at all, and at least three hours that I've been experiencing as of late. I wish my body and mind would work together and allow me another night of 8 hours of sleep. I could use it. I am never going to catch up at this rate. I'm going to turn into a panda, a raccoon, a zombie, anything with dark circles!

Sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when your body is demanding for rest and your mind is not co-operating. It is tough to be caught in a situation where you to sleep and unable to do so. The distractions do not help either. It is sometimes a battle with body and mind and it can feel exhausting as neither side gives in. The struggle to catch up on a sleep is understandable. I went through that during my stressful and hospital times. Definitely not worth going through it. It’s hard not of eel like you are losing the fight when you are not getting the 8 hours. Hope you can find some peace and relaxation to allow your mind to be at peace. Perhaps trying some clam or white music might help before bed time. Wish you a restful night and hope you get a good sleep.

Thank you. I tried so many things and nothing works. I only managed three hours again. My body is so tired, but I am wide awake. This is so frustrating. My insomnia is turning into a daily occurrence.

@snowy22315 Yes, he won't prescribe me new sleeping pills. He didn't even want to give me another checkup because I had one last month.

Have you ever tried taking a melatonin supplement? I am not sure if it would help, but it might be something to consider.

@lilacskies I'd find another way other than sleeping pills. Too many people rely on pills for everything. There must be a reason for the inability to sleep. The trick is figuring out what that is and then getting to work on fixing it rather than simply looking for a band aid.

Yes, and it did nothing for me. I'm stuck in the same situation over and over again. I need new sleeping pills, but my doctor refuses.

@lilacskies Couldn't your parents lend you some money for a new phone, or consider it an early birthday present or something?

@snowy22315 Should I? I can't afford a new phone right now anyway. I will try that then. They don't lend/give me money for anything though.

I am looking into apps, but my phone doesn't allow me to install apps. Do I get a new phone? I don't even have the money right now. I'm so frustrated.

I find that oats in the evening helps one to sleep better.
