Do You Remember Your First House?

I'm not talking like the house you grew up in but the house or apartment that you moved out on your own. I remember the house I grew up in and the dreams that I had in it. One of those dreams was owning my own place and decorating it and everything that came with it. Now that I'm in my thirties and married, it seems like that dream is so far off. Houses and rates are so expensive now versus what everything used to be. I can't seem to get ahead enough to even look at houses right now. It feels a little hopeless. Do you remember your first house? Was it this hard to get ahead to get it like it is now?
