I’ve just finished reading the book.Actually I bought it in Nov or Dec, 2022 or so, it was on the list of the 2021 Book Prize . I bought it with the intention of improving my English and also of enhancing my ability in reading comprehension. I’ve read some English books before, like Shining by Stephen King, Gone girl which was adapted into a movie, The Joy Luck Club written by a Chinese writer, Everything I Never Told you and some young adult readings like Flipped, Walk Two Moons and so on. At a beginner I had to read some books whose themes or backgrounds I was familiar with, then I turned to read stories with unfamiliar themes, like this one: A Town Called Solace.
I read some free pages of two or three on the website and decided to buy it. As usual I felt bored in reading the first one third of the book which focuses on introducing the background and some characters of the story, the book was written from different characters’ perspectives, each chapter was part of the story told by different character, that’s very interesting , like a puzzle game, you collect different information together and you can see how different characters feel on the same issue. But it still took me 3 years to finish reading the book, for I tried many times to continue reading it in the three years when I have many different excuses. It was yesterday when I tried again to read it I came to the chapter where the story astonished me , that was where I kept reading and finished it.
The story is very touching and moving. The town , Solace, is the place where different characters struggle and find peace and love, some find love, some find being cared, some find peace. It’s just like a comfort to readers too. The whole story starts from Clara, an 8-year-old girl ,who desperately wants her missing sister back, and ends with Moses, the cat which was believed a lie Clara told, turned itself up, which I believe as a metaphor of “love exists, you can believe it.” The story is neatly told with beautiful and touching words, it is art with the beauty of the language of English as well as of the beautiful and elegant writer.
I recommend you read it.

That's a touching story of Clara who badly misses her sister and wants her back. It has been few months since I picked up a book to read. I am reading a lot but mostly articles and some experts here and there. I plan to get back to reading from March end

That’s so amazing that you’ve read the same book as I did! I like how the writer ends her book with the turning up of Moses, Liam thought Clara told him a lie about the cat, but in the end he saw it in his living room, and he said “hello Moses, it’s very nice to meet you.”I think it means he finally finds love, I like it so much. Anyway I didn’t think I could find someone who has read the book, but it turns to be a surprise to read your comment!

What a cute and touching story. I'm glad you liked the book. I wonder if this book has an audiobook option. I've never listened to an audiobook before, but I want to get into it starting this year because I do want to read books, but due to ADHD, it's really difficult. I want to explore other options to enjoy books. Please provide us with more reviews when you read and finish more books. Great review!

Yes of course I’ll write more! I’m so happy you like it. I’m not sure if there is an audio version but I suppose there is one. Once I downloaded an app of Amazon named Audible which I can’t remember very well, but I’m out of service because it’s only open to American users. You could have a try. By the way, I’m reading another book now, it’s called the Girls in the Garden. When I finish reading it I’ll write another review. Thank you for your commenting. Have a nice day!

@maggiesunjuan Yes, I have heard of Audible but it's too expensive for me. It's out of my tight budget so I will have to explore other options. Okay, please write a review when you are finished with your new book. You too!
