I Meet My New Therapist Today

As you might recall, I have several mental health issues that I'm transparent about. I have Major Depressive Disorder (also known as Clinical Depression), Anxiety Disorder, and Mild Cognitive Impairment (pre-cursor to Dementia). I take medication for the Depression and The MCI. I can't take anxiety medication because of some reason I don't remember. I think it contributes to fuzzy brain (MCI). I've seen a therapist once a month of every 6 weeks for 17 years. It really helps. I had a major "nervous breakdown" if you want to call it that when my former husband died and I was an absolute wreck. She helped me through that. Now she has retired as of December and I have to see somebody new. Not only do I have to see someone new but I've been doing telehealth video visits ever since COVID and haven't had to go into the office (and subsequently haven't had to pay a copay). So today is a big day for me full of changes. Meeting a new therapist. Going into an office to see her.

I hope you're as comfortable with your new therapist as you were with the old one.

I hope you like the new therapist, we all would prefer seeing someone we have dealt with for years but time doesen't stand still. Our family doctor was murdered almost five years ago and we had to adjust to a new one.
