The Lord told me I should thank the one who abused me and I was like wait WHAT?! But God, in His greatness showed me who I was and who I am now. So God is right, and after writing this all out I have realized I am GRATEFUL! I am grateful to you... Some may think I'm crazy but before the Lord opened my eyes to who you really are I thought I was worthless, I was codependent on someone else, I was afraid to live, I was afraid to die, I didn't know who I was because I only lived in your shadow, I was afraid to drive, I was afraid to live without you, and I believed the lies of who YOU said I was... But now? Now...I have been set free once again in my life because the Lord loves me so much! I know I'm a child of God who is loved more than I can imagine, I'm learning each day who I am in Him, I'm learning I HAVE MY OWN VOICE, I'm learning to drive, I have certifications to get a job now, I have Godfidence, and I am more at peace with ME than I have been in 20 years!! So thank you cruel & manipulating person-also known as my husband, because of you I have found ME and I love me! And because of all of this, my children will also benefit from seeing this new Mom who has a strength and confidence only in her God!

I hope you have this removed this person from your life. What was your relationship with this person? Also, congratulations on getting certifications to get a job now. What job are you thinking of getting?

@lilacskies He has been my husband for 20 years. Once I have my job settled and get on my feet for my children I will be divorcing him. For now, I am healing and improving myself with the Lord's help every day. I'm going to be working in the Childcare field. =)

@LovingMyBabies I am so sorry. I'm glad you made the decision to divorce him. It's not safe to live with an abuser. You are doing very well. Keep it up! Good luck! Stay strong!

@snowy22315 Thank you, it's becoming more like who I was meant to be to begin with-before the abuse ever existed.

It's good to see you again here. I have been thinking about you. You mentioned in one of the comments below that once you get your job settled and get on your feet for your children, that you will be divorcing your husband. Does your husband know what is coming? Or is he clueless?
