Actress Who Played Dawn on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Found Dead at Age 39

The New York Post reports that Michelle Trachtenberg paramedics were called to the scene at the luxury apartment in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The call came in just after 8 a.m.(Wednesday) and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The New York Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death and her family is requesting privacy for their loss. She was 39. Michelle Trachtenberg began her acting career at age 8 on Nickelodeon's "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" and went on to portray Dawn, Buffy's sister on WBs "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer". In 2021 she and several other women from the show spoke about Joss Wheldon's inappropriate behavior on set. She later expressed how the experience had traumatized her.
